Yes. It is ok to compost them.

I've recently taken to throwing them on the ground near the rhubarb though.

Mine all go on the compost- but I'm thinking I'll leave a few on the ground and check them daily for slugs/snails sheltering underneath!
My chooks will be more than pleased! ...as will my plants!

Yes, if you eat them, but you don't eat compost ..."


Ditto for foxgloves, delphiniums, datura ... you wouldn't eat any of them, but they're fine on the compost heap.

even if you ate them ,you would have to virtually gorge on them to kill yourself,eating a leaf would give you a bad stomach ache,still,not recommended...
