I think that if you leave them all in you simply won't get many courgettes at all from any of the plants. You could remove some and give them away to people if you don't have room for them all? If putting in pots, they need BIG pots. I found the large recycling boxes from the council was a good size for ONE plant.

Also, anything else you have planted in that bed will be smothered by the courgettes.

Yes it is addictive.. watch out for some more posts in the future.. might need some more help. And yes i could thin them out again, into pots.. or into another bed, but was hoping to put some Toms in there.. and I already have some spare courgettes in pots so was hoping to leave the ones out in the bed where they are.

Will probably give it a week or two and see how things go, depending on how the toms and courgettes are doing, and what pots i can get etc. I have some slug pellets around the edge of the box on the floor, and so far they have kept away the snails that are lurking in the yard.. And they say that you make your own luck.. well from the amount of hours that I've already put in, and the success i had with everything sprouting straight from seed, I'd say this could be a lucky summer..!

      Thanks again

They grow very big! About the size of a hula hoop........the exercise one not the crisps! So imagine planting in the middle of the hula hoop! And the next one in the next hula hoop!

        Good luck

Haha this blogging stuff is fun.. you lot crack me up.. yeah i can give some away etc..also i was wondering about those council boxes but didn't think the neighbours would appreciate me taking theirs (apart from the lazy ones who don't recycle) There is a couple of beetroot down the other end of the box, so will have to see how that goes, as you can see i clearly don't have enough room for hula hoop sized activities but will just have to make do with what room i have.. anyway thanks again fr the comments, off to bed now.
