I have read that wild rocket is slower bolting than cultivated rocket, so I am growing some from the Virtual Seed Parcel. It is very slow growing so I was wondering if someone could recommend a cultivated variety while I wait for the wild rocket to mature. I have tried two cultivated varieties from different sources with the generic name 'rocket' and 'organic rocket'. I have tried growing it in every possible way: in shade, full sun, dappled shade, small container, large container, etc. The same sowings all bolted at around the same time in different conditions and I was barely able to harvest 5-6 small leaves from each plant. I'm really hoping there's a better variety out there. Please give me your recommendations!

Ha VVG, you've caught me out! He gave a talk a few years ago at a local gardening club! He was brilliant, his book, I've mentioned before "salad for all seasons" is really worth it's weight in gold. We eat leaves the whole year round and I haven't needed to buy any since I've read it!Last edited by Scarlet; 08-06-2013, 07:37 AM.
