Please recommend a slow to bolt rocket variety!

I have read that wild rocket is slower bolting than cultivated rocket, so I am growing some from the Virtual Seed Parcel. It is very slow growing so I was wondering if someone could recommend a cultivated variety while I wait for the wild rocket to mature. I have tried two cultivated varieties from different sources with the generic name 'rocket' and 'organic rocket'. I have tried growing it in every possible way: in shade, full sun, dappled shade, small container, large container, etc. The same sowings all bolted at around the same time in different conditions and I was barely able to harvest 5-6 small leaves from each plant. I'm really hoping there's a better variety out there. Please give me your recommendations!

I think it's not the variety that's the problem but the planting time. I've found the best times to sow rocket is July, August and early sept. With August having the best results. Or very early in the year, started undercover.

Charles Dowding alludes to the same thing, especially with leaves. They all have a right time and a wrong time. Quite fascinating.

Ha VVG, you've caught me out! He gave a talk a few years ago at a local gardening club! He was brilliant, his book, I've mentioned before "salad for all seasons" is really worth it's weight in gold. We eat leaves the whole year round and I haven't needed to buy any since I've read it!

Thanks for your replies. I knew the bolting times applied to a lot of oriental vegetables but did not know this of rocket. Does it have to do with increasing daylight hours like the oriental veg?

He's great isn't he? Not a case of catching you out, more it's good you are spreading his leafy gospel I hadn't realised I was in good CD company.
