I've heard of the names 'Goose-grass' and 'Cleavers' for it - it grows all over the place round my way - but never 'Sticky Willy'. That's what I'm calling it from now on!
"Cleavers" worked for us as it was also the surname of the slightly odd couple who lived in our road. Well, they seemed slightly odd when we were children!
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.
Cleavers is excellent for lymphatic problems and inflammatory conditions. I feed it to my ponies regularly, especially when the grass is a bit rich. If it grows back, harvest it, dry it and use it as an infusion.
