  • Leggy Chinese Brocolli

My chinese brocolli plants seem to have healthy foliage, they are about 6 inches tall, but they look a bit leggy. One or two two have flopped over and the others have L shaped stems as if leaning on their elbows!. Should I be earthing up and... is this usual for chinese brocolli?

They are outside in raised beds with cabbage collars on.

    Any advice appreciated. Thank you!

    Have you got a photo?

Really now isn't the best time to grow it as it tends to bolt easy really its a late summer/early autumn or early spring sowing.

If it gets warm, they're just going to bolt. They're really best sown in late summer: they are a cool weather crop

          Did you sow them direct?

            Hi
Yes I sowed them direct. On the basis of all the advice given, am I better of picking them now and eating them as baby greens?

I would leave them for a bit, keep an eye on them and hope they grow a bit more.

                They look fine.
They are an eat-it-all veg so even if they bolt you should get a good enough harvest.
Even with flowers they still taste nice.
