  • Mangetout or Petit Pois? Help!

    Hi All,
School boy error...I planted both mangetout (Oregon sugar pod) and petit Pois (waverex) in the same location without labelling. I haven't grown peas before and need some help to identify which is which!

I picked 10 tonight, my guess is that the pair in the middle are the Petit Pois, the rest being mangetout?

    Photo....

Lesson learned for next year! Appreciate any advice! Thanks!

After a while, you will soon recognise what is which, the mangetout, grow flat, and a bit wider than the round type, also a paler green, well mine were anyhow, howerer,if you want to save seed for next year, then let them get fat peas, you will know the difference,as the mangetout get really big, just dont do what i did,and end mixin em up :rolleyesto add, best picked for eating when smaller,as they get tough, they also good on their own as a veg,not just stir fries.

Yes those pair in the middle definitely look like Petit Pois to me.
