garlic scapes

my garlic has just shot up a load of 'scapes'.

Do I cut these off? And will the garlic continue to grow?

Or does this mean that the bulb has stopped growing?

I think you need to cut them off so the plant continues to put it's energy into the bulbs.

You can use the scapes in a stir fry though... I tried this with the one's from my elephant garlic but they were tough as old boots!

Cut them off as Vikki says ^^^. Otherwise the plant puts its energy into producing seed, not bulb

all cut off, and now in the fridge!!!!!!
