First Ola Polka (2) and Marmande (1) tomatoes.
Not convinced that our harvest is going to get going before everything fries or the first frosts!!

Picked my first French beans (Minidor and something else) and mangetout (GoldenSweet and Bijou) Apparently Bijou produces 7" pods but I couldn't wait that long
Also picked my first Matucana Sweet peas "with the strongest scent in the world" according to Sarah Raven. Bit unfair of me to put them in a vase with honeysuckle

My first crop of peas, enough for four of us to have with dinner.

They do smell good, was weeding near mine this morning and the smell was very strong and really good.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I had my first cucumber about a week ago, however I didn't pick it it fell off!!

It was dangling over the site of it's pot and got blown off in the wind, it tasted really really nice though,
maybe 'baby' ones taste better, it was not very big though due to being premature, the size of half a small banana.

Also has some radish but I let that grow too long so not very good, also tried the leaves, which seemed OK.

Yesterday I picked my first strawberries, raspberries and a single round courgette.

I have never tasted strawbs as sweet - they definitely didnt need any sugar on them at all!

Today it was the turn of the first baby leeks and black cherry toms.

Tonight for tea its a good mature cheddar on toast with the added zing of black cherry toms. Don't you just love this GYO lark.
