        • Beetroot di chioggia (yesterday) and cucumber (burpless tasty green) today.
MrPP declared the cucumber more cucumbery than last year. He doesn't like cucumbers!! Shame.

                    • My first ever Rats Tail radish pod!! Who ever dreamt up that name had a sense of humour I've just munched it and it was surprising juicy - far more than a radish and with a hot afterglow.
More coming and I'm looking forward to eating them

                            • Picked my first ripe tomato of 2013 Yes it was tiny - but size isn't everything
It was on an outdoor plant, one that had looked so sickly that I couldn't give it GH room and just stuck it outside and forgot about it. No watering, no feed, no support, not even a little chat. But, its the first to ripen and I have apologised and begged its forgiveness
It smelt and tasted like a real tomato - the first I've eaten all year
