Snadger? I've got mooli growing, but it looks like it's all bolted - white flowers all over them I'm assuming something has gone wrong - or can I at least salvage something from them? Can you eat the seed pods when they've bolted like you can with radishes? Or Vc - can you eat the leaves? I pulled one up and it had the tiniest mooli about the length of my little finger, red but I peeled it to have a look and it was pure white inside.

Seed pods are edible as are the leaves.
Personally I don't like using the leaves apart from the baby leaves (the heart shaped ones) in a salad as they get too hairy for me.
I've heard good things about cooking with them, but haven't got around to trying it yet.Last edited by JoeDaStudd; 04-07-2013, 10:27 AM.

Hello. I confess to committing the grave forum sin of not reading through the previous four pages of posts, but I just wanted to answer the original question. I'm waiting on delivery of three types of carrot, purslane and lettuce seeds, all of which I'm reliably informed (by Suttons) can go out in July. Yesterday I sowed two types of kohl rabi, two types of lettuce and two varieties of mustard greens, and I'll go on sowing those through July and later if the seeds allow - I can't remember quite what the packet said. Oh and I'm still bunging a few spring onion seeds in the ground every few days.Last edited by MrsCordial; 08-07-2013, 11:29 AM.Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
