Both last year and this, my broccoli has made uneven heads instead of nice domes. At the base of the head there is sometimes yucky brown spots. Occasionally the separate broccoli stalks twist and turn down into the center, also going brown. Any ideas what is going on? I thought it was too much fertilizer last year, so I have added none this year. The plants look great. They are in raised beds. Some planted early, some the first week in June. Any idea what is going on?
