    I agree with rusty lady.This always works for me.also they respnd well to bottom heat.

    I've got a feeling that some varieties of squash including butternut & spaghetti squash require higher temps to get em up.
    bog standard ones do pretty well at about 20c ,these seem to like 25c.

      I soak mine for a couple of days then plant, doing really well so worth a try

        I sow them on their side, in shallow seed trays and in a heated propagator. So far 100% germination, but then my hamfisted efforts at looking after them have caused a few casualties. Still on track for at least 9 different varieties though.
