courgette probs

just noticed this tonight on a slug hunt 2 of my 6 plants the biggest ones . the new leaves are yellow , wasnt really worryed to much intill i noticed the the white ( see pic of top leave . my soil ph lvl is around the 7.1 . and my feed as always is comfrey /stingers . no greenfly etc on them only the odd slug attack ><. please dont say cu mosaic virus looks more like a feed problem to me or the fact the are shouting to many veg and just putting the energy into the courette itsself . any clues ?

I'm no expert Dave, but i'd just carry on feeding them, it might just be they got put out slightly too early and the weather turning as cool as it has lately has knocked them back a touch. If anything will pick them up, i'd say your nettle liquid feed would do the trick.

Just be thankful in the knowledge that yours are bigger mine.

Everybody worries about their courgette leaves Dave. I think your courgettes will be fine.

Courgette leaves do generally have a silver pattern on them. It freaked me out the first time I saw it as well!

It's not CMV, they look a little cold and hungry pehaps. They will be fine....worry is interest paid on events that are yet to happen!

They dont look so bad today think it was the light i was using and the flash of the cam made them look more white .still gave um a good feed today and the suns been out ,just hope it stays sunny

Cloudy sky, leave 'em out. Clear sky, cover 'em up. I've been doing that for a few weeks now. So far everything is looking healthy. I'm trying to grow them as big as possible befor I plant out to beat the slugs!

All putting my courgette plants to shame! I think mine got a little frosted/dry as the leaves are a bit curled at the edges and some have dried right up. I keep watering them, being mindful not to drown them, and the leaves in the middle seem to be healthy enough. I think I was just a bit eager putting them outside. I too am waiting as long as possible before planting them out in their final position to give them every chance.

Yours look far better than mine dave. Tell me, being from a chipie, shouldn't you be growing gherkins?

My courgettes are only just sprouting in their pots so I'm well behind the rest of you! having seen your photo dave I know what I'm aspiring to!

I planted some new ones not so long ago and they are catching up ,i just planted the really early this yeah as i just moved close the the seaside so last frost here was back in jan . nice to see the sun out again today , got aload of weebing todo >< , the same leaves are still abit miscolored but all are starting to flower now with about 3" cours growing on them so guess they must be happy .

Mine are living outside with fleece over them at night. Already have courgettes on. Last year I ran out of courgettes earlier than I wanted to as I think the plants had just fruited themselves to death, so I've just planted a couple of seeds to get late ones when the early ones are exhausted.

Mine have yellow leaves - just one on each plant but they are also flowering and romping away - not a problem at all.

i sowed some in late july last year and tho i obviously got less from them, they grew scarily fast..

I found two of mine from the greenhouse have been got at by those b****y slugs, they havent touched the leaves just eaten half way through the stem. I am off out to try and get some organic slug pellets or some garlic granules
