Do you ever wonder how one of my simple questions can generate so many replies? I do

ii was working on scaffolding last week where it was installed floor to roof inside a power station and there was a huge difference in temp inside might be worth doing a temp check inside and out

Ahh, but was the difference you were working inside and standing around on the outside?

Thanks Hollychap I've wondered how effective it would be as winter insulation

Thats why we use the stuff as a germination sheet laid flat on the ground when grass seeding an area from scratch. Higher temp, retains moisture, can be watered through, keeps the pigeons off. Needs to be taken off rather sharply once the grass seed has germinated though as it starts growing through the mesh!

Could you use that technique with other seeds too Snadge? I may need to buy 3 rolls (in different colours)

Any fine mesh will make a bit of a microclimate inside, my brassias are all in a enviromesh cage and it's warmer in there too so I don't think it will make that much difference what you use.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I like the black netting because it doesn't stand out to much in the garden.

I never considered the micro climate. I wonder if that's why my Brassicas do so well. If I thought I could grow a cabbage unprotected, I'd try an experiment.
