poorly strawberries

  • poorly strawberries

    can help.ive looked online and cant find anything that matches .my strawberry leafs are being eaten from the underside by stripping the soft parts out of each leaf .they are small grubs about 5 to 8 mm long and are green in colour.any help with id and treatment would be much appretiated as its a new bed

    Photo might help Ken. Sounds like caterpillars of some sort to me though.

          Sorry we cannot give you a deffinitve answer Ken,but,not everyone is online this time of the year,plus not all peeps have all the answerers,also some things are easy to miss when we pop on quick to have a peek,as Rusty lady says,a pic could help,as there are peeps out there,that do not know themselves,but will very generously look it for you,
          by the way,i do hope teddy makes a full recovery

            I did suggest caterpillars Ken, but you didn't provide a photo as requested. Neither have you confirmed that they were or were not caterpillars.

              I have looked on Gooooogle and come up with this moth info...click on each name and a piccie with more info will come up. Perhaps you can let us know what you think it could be- or there may be a similar link for butterflies?

                Maybe cabbage white (my arch nemesis at present) has taken a liking for your strawberries in the absence of cabbages .....
