  • Drying out Garlic - Scapes

    Hi all

    MORE advice required please

I just had a quick check on the progress of my Garlic drying away in my little blowaway outside. Been there for about 2-3 weeks now and one variety (edenrose) has just now nearly all developed scapes! Is it trying to tell me something (am I doing something wrong) or should I just consider this a Brucie Bonus??? Do you think I picked em too early??? They were quite a bit smaller than the Germidor that I also grew....

    Thanks in advance!

they're trying to flower. Cut them off.

Get your garlic out in the fresh air - it's obviously too humid in the blowaway.

I've never known scapes develop on lifted garlic, maybe you did lift them too early but it's done now. Cut the scapes off and use them.
