Cucumber question

I've got two miniature cucumber varieties; one growing outside and the other in the greenhouse. Both are flowering well but the flowers just seem to be whithering and no fruit afterwards. Although, I have notice today that there is a fruit growing on the outdoor plant. Why should the flowers drop off and not set fruit? Both plants are in soil with a little manure added when planted. I'm feeding them as I do the tomatoes which are looking good. Any suggestions?

Either lack of pollination or lack of water.

Do you know what variety they are Ader? Are they an all-female type - or is it the male flowers that are dropping off?

They are called Cucumber La Diva.

I have just been out to remove the male flowers as the link above suggests.

I'd just found that link too Maybe its the male flowers that are withering. I've found with courgettes that the male flowers appear long before any females do.
Do you have female flowers coming along? If so I wouldn't worry too much. I haven't had any cukes yet this year

Yes I do have some female ones coming along upon close inspection. I thought some female ones had withered before but maybe they were male ones. In fact, until now, I didn't know there were male and females on them. Is this the case for most cucumbers and does one need to remove the males off of all varieties?
