I noticed today a few of the leaves on my otherwise healthy parsnips have gone dry and crispy. I am wondering if this is a disease of some sort or whether they're just complaining about the heat and I should water them more heavily. I water them lightly most days. Don't recall this happening before.

You certainly shouldn't be watering them every day Vince. And light watering will only encourage the roots to stay near the surface.
With parsnips especially you want the roots to be going deep into the soil. If you must water then a good soaking once a week would be better.

My first year growing them and a lot of the leaves are looking worse for wear as a result of those little blighters!
I need to snip them off again!

Doesn't look like leaf miner from the pictures I've googled. Might just give those leaves a snip and see what they turn out like.
Noted re watering RL, always thought you had to keep them moist so they didn't turn out woody and corky. I'll resist the temptation going forward. Are y'oroight booy?
