  • Cauliflowers - harvested too late?

Just returned from holiday and with some excitement not the usual dread. The veg plot survived and flurrished in the 2 weeks we've been away. Sadly, I think I should have harvested the caulis before we left. Here's a pic of 4 of them. The edges are starting to turn purple. Does anyone know if you can still eat them?

Looks like they've had too much sun Rob. I'd cook all the white bits (or indeed blanch and freeze) and throw the pink bits in the compost.

They're still edible, I would eat them.

Thanks. First time I've grown them and have just looked up about shading them with their own leaves. Will know for next year!

Thanks for all your replies. Have blanched some and pureed some. Both my wife and myself are totally "cauli-ed" out now! Time for some sleep.
