Aubergines rotting on plant

Hi - i'm hoping someone can share some wisdom!

I have 3 aubergine moneymaker plants in the greenhouse - the plants look healthy and get fed once a week with a liquid feed. However, although the flowers are are being pollinated by insects and setting the fruits are not swelling or getting bigger but just rotting.

I have 2 aubergine baby rosanna in the greenhouse as well and they have not had any problems and are cropping well

What am i doing wrong or do i need to do differerntly?

Any advice appreciated.

hmm im not really helping you but id be interested in the replies.. i have one plant in the greenhouse and although flowered well... ended up with only 3 aubergines in total, i didn't help/aid pollination so that might have been the problem, i assumed they were/are self-fertile.

I've had some fruits grow quite big and then they rotted from the stem before they were ripe enough to pick

They are really really thirsty and need to be watered often and reglular.

In a damp greenhouse they have a bit of a habit of catching rot from tip. The flowers themselves seem to be the main culprit. I tend to ease of the flower once it has closed up and just started withering (they don't come off that easily though) and this has more or less solved my problems.

Context: I've had a couple of big fat aubergines so far, with more on the way.

The packet was marked F1 and although in the greenhouse there is always plently of insects/bees on them so i didn't think fertilisation was the problem - i assumed the unfertilised flowers would just drop off.

They have been getting plenty water and fed once a week - i'll just have to keep an eye on the ones that are setting now and see how it goes.

Jacob - i might try and ease the flowers off some as you suggest and see how it goes!

I think that you keep the soil moist and the plant dry ie. no water on the leaves and do as Jacob says ease the faded flowers off. Keep up a good level of ventilation as poor ventilation is often the cause of rot and remove all dead leaves etc.
As for polination I just tickle the stamens as I pass and it seems to do the trick.

thanks roitelet - having only been watering from below so leaves/flowers/fruits have been dry and have been keeping them clean of any old leaves, etc.

Not sure what difference is with this variety as the Baby Rosanna variety has produced lots of fruits/flowers without any problems!
