String vest Cabbage

Hi all
Grown some cabbage this year and had a good crop and taste so good raw and steamed. But how do I prevent it from looking like a string vest. More holes than Nora Batty's pants.

Oh dear, you've had a caterpillar attack!

You need to net your cabbages as soon as they are planted with very fine mesh netting.

Either that or inspect daily and pick off any eggs and caterpillars before they start eating.
