Just a quick question. I cleared the bottom of my garden recently of loads of overgrown trees and bushes and have dug up a load of rocks and bricks and will soon have dug out the rest of the bind weed roots. I plan to sow green manure, just bought these seeds Winter Mix Green Manure Seeds - Sow Green Manure and also have 400L on general purpose compost in 2 bags I plan to use to improve the soil and level it a bit. The question is should I add the compost now or in spring when I dig in the green manure. Thank you in advance for any advise.

Thank you for the answers, sorry if I an being stupid but, are you suggesting I add the volcanic rock dust & manure now then sew the green manure or add it instead of the green manure in spring or after I dig in the green manure in spring or now instead of the green manure and just leave it until spring?

preparing your ground will depend on what you're growing next year - look up basic crop rotation (3 beds) - it'll tell you to dig some compost into one bed in the autumn and another bed in spring, and not to add compost to the 3rd bed - you'll find this basic crop rotation in all the old home growing books
