  • How to store potatoes with scab?

Any suggestions on how to store scab affected potatoes as they were particularly badly affected this year.
Normally I use grass in the trench and then put seed potatoes on this before covering with soil which has worked in the past although this year the grass delivery man dropped off very little.

They should be fine just keep an eye on them.

Howay rusty lady! Eyes on tatties?

I would think that because scab is caused by an alkaline soil, maybe storing spuds with a little bit of peat (acid)added to bag may halt its progress? Just guessing though.

Sorry Snadger, bit slow these days.

Don't think scab gets worse once the spuds are lifted though, does it. I suppose peat might help.
