This year we've grown some chillies and sweet peppers in our big plastic greenhouse. They all seem to have done really well but are now being a little stubborn in ripening to a lovely red colour. On the chilli front we have jalapenos, cayenne and an Italian chilli who's name escapes me at the minute. Some of the cayennes and Italians are starting to turn, the sweet peppers are being resolute in staying green lol! What do I do with them now the weathers on the change? We wanted to take the large greenhouse down over winter (although we're ok for a couple more months yet) but we have a cloche and a small greenhouse they could live in, is it even possible to over winter chillies as we've never done it before?

Chilli advice for over winter for a newbie :)

First air temperature frost will kill the chilli plants. Won't be good for the chillies either.
For the fruit, I'd eventually take the plants inside and treat them as house plants whilst stuff attempts to ripen. You could then do as Chris suggests and overwinter if you like.
All that said, I'd leave them in the greenhouse for a while yet for the sunlight. In Stoke, I dunno, another 4 weeks?Garden Grower
