Does anyone know what kind of mushrooms these are they are growing under my swede

Hi Chris - are they growing in woodchip? They look like Winecap mushrooms which are edible but I don't advise you to eat them without a positive identification. More about them Mushroom Mountain - King Stropharia, great for your garden, forest, compost pile, and you.

Yeah there is wood chip in the soil

Then they probably are Winecaps - but, as you'll appreciate, I don't want to tell you they're edible, just in case!!

As a general rule of thumb if you want to test whether a mushroom is edible you eat a tiny bit of it and see if you get a reaction. This is what our fore fathers would have done, which is probably why the population was much less then.....
