what's good to grow in the greenhouse in september / october?

Any tips on what I can grow now (September / October) in the greenhouse. It is unheated and I live in the North of England.

It's all cleaned and it feels a shame not to have anything in there over winter.

Plenty of space in there so I can plant quite a few things in there.

I've got salad leaves in mine, and that's it apart from some flower seeds I'm trying to give a head start for next year

I've still got a full greenhouse , lots of Toms Aubergines Chillies Beetroots salads I am hoping we keep this mild sunny weather and continue well into October

Just tomatoes and pepper left in mine at the moment.

Crikey - I haven't got an inch space in mine. Salads, of all shapes and sizes, potato onions and garlics, seed onions, beans all drying, tomatoes and peppers still fruiting, seeds sown for the spring, carrots in buckets - I literally have to shuffle everything when I need to use it to sow or de pod beans.

I think what Deborah means is what can she start in the greenhouse NOW, rather than what could be in there that's already been growing.

The only things I have found to start now is salad leaves, pal choi, basil, coriander, chives, I started onion seeds at the beginning of sept, not sure if it's too late to actually start them though as I'm fairly new myself.

Over sept oct and nov, I will propagate flower seeds ready for planting out in jan feb.

Perpetual spinach, chard, rocket, corn salad, hardy salad onions are still germinating ok here, mizuna, tatsoi, pak choi for stir-fries, a seeds of Italy 4 season salad mix germinates all through winter.

As Thelma suggests ^^^^ plus peas and some for pea shoots, winter lettuce, landcress, radish, start onions, garlic, broad beans, sweet peas.........I'm sure there are more..............

So sweet peas can be germinated now VC? Cos I wanna grown sweet peas in with my runner beans next year for a nice display, I was just gonna throw the seeds in with the beans at the time LOL!!
I was gonna sow my beans in the GH in jan/feb does that sound about right?

I'm sure I've read somewhere that sweet peas sown in the autumn do much better than those sown in the spring.. although I've never actually remembered to try it! Maybe this year...
