I have always done my gardening in a frugal manner anyway, I did buy some canes this year for my
tomatoes as I had ran out of suitable bits (branches) of trees I had saved.
I have bought tomato fertilizer in the past but I think I can manage with out it, indeed I think it turned some of the leaves black so I lay off using it.
To me it seem a bit pointless if you spend more on gardening than you save by growing your own
hence I have started saving seeds, including see potatoes etc.

I don't have a green house, but I grew more toms than I could ever eat with out one so I don't need one of those, same goes for cucumbers. I did buy a cloche but I found it a real pain removing and replacing it to water so I have stopped using it.

I have made a cloche out of branches and some clear bin liner stuff lol. But I don't use that either,
I think it can cause dampness and hence disease.

The main spend has been on compost for starting seeds but I think I would have done just as well using garden soil.
