  • Happy Sunday Everyone- what is everyone upto?

I am super excited - almost like Christmas Day I'm heading down to the allotment for the first time to start clearing it a couple of friends are going to help me- I really appreciate them giving up their time. One already has a lotto in the village so I'm really pleased I've an expert lol. Very dull cold here not sure if I should jump out if bed and make some chocolate brownies .

We are up, dressed and out to bag up some clay from the lottie for making a mass rocket heater later this month, taking it to the community gardens, and bagging up spare rotted turf to take back to lottie to fill the gaps left by the clay. Luckily there is lots of spare rotted turf at the community gardens!

There is a swathe of rain coming right over us today so we are going to get wet no matter what.

Then this evening, as the grapes are starting to fall themselves, we are making wine. And we will have a roast dinner as per usual.

      Morning Zazen

Wow you both have got a full packed day. Post some pics when your done. It's so cold here this morning I've just put some brownies in the oven and made myself a cappuccino and taken it back to bed. It's very damp out think it rained last night.

I've been up and about fora while and even ventured into the garden for a look around and open up the GH didn't take my usual mug of tea with me because with the rain it would have only overflowed

Enjoy the first day at your new lottie.

Going to pop to the plot later to see if there are any runner beans that are still edible, FiL is coming for his roast dinner this evening and both he and I ADORE runner beans! Baking a choc cake, make some passata with the last of the ripe tomatoes, watch the Grand Prix - potter about a bit generally! It's a grey Sunday in October. Nowhere near as productive as these early posters!

Torrential rain here, looks like it's here for the day,so won't be going to plot, luckily I went yesterday and planted onion and garlic, and chopped down some weeds. So looks like ironing will be tackled today, and if it clears up later, may be able to pop out.

Having a typically lazy Sunday morning!

Rain on and off at the minute! Shall potter in the back yard today! But first!

Its pouring here and cold, wet and grey, even the dogs wont go out. Glad I spent the whole day yesterday on the plot and got loads done. So I am going to put the oven on and do a roast dinner with lots of veggies from the garden. Make a wholemeal loaf and some seed rolls plus blackberry and apple crumble, teacake, and some piccalilli.

So not going to lottie today
Good luck with the allotment and remember, little by little and you'll have ship shape for the new growing season.
I'm off to make passata finally!!!!

We are at the top end of the rain today; it poured down yesterday so we did a full clean of the house.

We've been, dug up 250kg clay, taken it to the gardens, dug up 200kg of soil and taken it to the lottie. Phew!

Chilli noodles for lunch. When I've warmed up a bit...

Have a great first day on your new allotment vegboi - don't forget to take your camera and a flask of hot drinks.

Weather quite sunny here in N Ireland, looks like we're escaping the rains. Will go up to the allotment for a few hours this afternoon to harvest potatoes, parsnips, PSB, sprouts and leeks. Need to pick my one and only butternut squash, before the frost appears. Will also be planting garlic today, and preparing a bed for sowing the overwintering broad beans later this month. Also need to transplant wallflowers from their nursery bed.

Other than that, a bit of a tidy up, a chat to any neighbours, and home in time for Strictly. A perfect Sunday!

We had dinner at Friends' last night, and got home around 1am Didn't get up and dressed until after 10 this morning, and Hubby has now gone out to get a few things, whilst I catch up with emails and gossip on-line. I did go out in the torrential rain to let the chooks out into their grass run (they were already soaked, and keen to get out) and I played with the Dogs for a bit, and I cleared up some of the cardboard box they decided to steal and shred up all over the lawn, yesterday.

Kettle's on, if you want me, I'll be in the 'Chat' thread. Happy Sunday.

Nipped into town for a few bits and pieces but no gardening today as it is absolutely pouring here. OH is cycling in the New Forest - no idea if the rain has reached there yet. No2 son is still in bed, it's a hard life being a teenager. I'm off to find some lunch, a good film and get on with my cross stitch. A true winter activity!
