Protecting GH glass whilst mowing

Solutions sought please

The Problem :-
1. Between the GH and a rockery is a strip of grass approx 7' wide with a stepping stone path in the middle-ish.
2. Moles are burrowing under the path and bring stones to the surface as well as molehills
3. When the grass is strimmed/mown, the stones are being flung up and the gardener is worried that they will break the GH glass, also the cut grass is being thrown up onto the glass and drying there.
4. There is a kerbed herb bed about 2' wide alongside the GH but this is not enough to buffer the GH glass.
5. The grass gets muddy and slippery when its wet.

Options:-
1. The gardener suggests removing all the grass and laying chippings or bark so that mowing will not be required.
or, my thoughts:
2. Cover the complete area with a walk through tunnel to keep the ground dry
3. Remove the grass and turn it all into planting beds with a narrow pathway
4. As above but with walk through archways for beans, climbers etc
5. protect the glass with a barrier
6. get rid of the moles
7. get another gardener!

What other options are there? Thank you as I know you'll come up with some good suggestions

Get a couple of broom handles, staple or cable tie some debris netting to both handles say 12 foot apart. Knock the handles into the ground making a barrier whilst grass is being cut then just roll the handles & netting up when finished.

VC I like this idea best unless it casts to much shade on you GH.

That's what I wondered BM!! The gap could be widened by removing part of the rockery.........
The only problem may be access to the small GH on the left. Might need a new route - across the rockery perhaps

Just been pondering whether there is a way to bridge the gap between 2 GHs that are at different levels to create a covered space that would be glazed on 2 sides?

These 2 GHs have 2 glass panels that line up (4'). Maybe a couple of upright posts on the left (rockery side) and it could be a walk through GH

You could maybe bridge it with polycarb or corrugated sheet but my fear would be that the first bad wind would just lift it. Plus it's not gonna solve your grass cutting issue.

I have the same problem when mowing my grass that is near the GH. I just use a long piece of thin ply to protect the glass and move it up as I go along....the other side is a wood chip path - now that is seriously a pain in the butt to weed! Stick with the grass.

An open ended polytunnel, or a covered pergola, or how about getting rid of the grass and planting chamomile? A light trim twice a year and you're done

A ploycarb sheet 2'0" high and the length of the greenhouse either at the front of the glass or preferably individual panes instead of glass along the bottom?
If you walk the area to be cut removing any obstacles before cutting there shouldn't be a problem with flying debri anyway!
Thats where the traditional greenhouse with the two foot high brick wall as a base comes into its own!

Thanks for all your suggestions. There's only one more cut planned before the winter so I'll have 'til spring to think of a solution
My neighbour has offered to set mole traps and remove the bodies once he has cleared his garden. I just feel uncomfortable about killing them

I'd go with Snadger's suggestion.

A piece of clear perspex / polycarb the length of the greenhouse. Stick it there and leave it. Maybe a couple of simple stakes or clips so it doesn't blow over. Job done.

You can get perspex cut to size in the bigger DIY centres. Or any sign makers, plastic fabricators.. £10 maybe? No mess, no hassle, no big overhaul.
