My plants are still green but had a little rummage and pulled this out, not sure how much bigger they will grow but will leave them a bit longer.

I had little look at mine, saw 1 !, think smaller than yours, shoved it back in quick, as plants are still green. If we are going to 'compare' I might have to cheat, and go buy one of a reasonable size!

        Joking.

We shall have to compare notes when we dig them up?
          Slowly takes it!

Frost? Did you really. I'm up in Yorkshire this week, don't know what the temperature has been like at home,Kent. I really don't think my sweet potatoes are gonna be very good, I put them in so late, but if I have enough, I do love them made into soup,I also have a Jamie Oliver, recipe, spicy with lamb I believe.

Pulled up sweet potatoes, bit pathetic, but I did put them in far too late, will try again next year, might be sufficient for one batch of soup.

peel them ....cut into cubes ... place in a pot

boil in salted water till they are soft ...

drain the water ... place back into the pot ... add loads of butter (not margarine) .... some brown sugar ... and a bit of cinnamon (powder)

mash and eat (kids love it)

its a South African way of eating them

Mine are in potato bags in the polytunnel. I can see several, quite large ones breaking the surface. Shall I just let them carry on growing while they are still green (which seems the right thing to do.)? They were quite late planted as they were the special offer plants from Suttons back in June.

Also do the cuttings need bottom heat to grow best?

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

I am going to leave the rest of mine in the ground for a bit longer. The one i dug up was ok but small. They were nt covered like yours so yours may be better.
