  • carrot question

I sowed some carrot seeds in a pot about 3 weeks ago and plonked it in the plastic greenhouse. nothing seemed to be doing, but I watered them yesterday anyway. unfortunately I dont have a rose on the watering can, put too much on and it kind of mushed up the compost. now, there are what looks like miniature bean sprouts on the surface - are these the germinated carrots, and if so have I killed them all?!

They certainly sound as if they are your carrots. If I was you I would put a thin layer of compost on top of them and keep your fingers crossed. They should be fine.

Just buy a rose for the one you've got FVV. If you do want a new one, the ones that Do-it all sell (dark green Sankey) are excellent. they cost about a fiver I think but I thought they were so good I bought the company ... er no thats not right... ah yes I'm going to buy two more!

I bought one of the rubber sankey rose heads, Just don't do what I did and leave it in the greenhouse/ sun..... the rubber on mine has split round the rose where it has perished.
