Just joined and been sent a complementary packet of achocha seed from the Heritage Seed Library. Do any of you grapes know what to do with it / what to use it for?
It's a member of the cucurbit family and is also known as wild cucumber. Allegedly you can make a curry with it (think you have to split and deseed it first.)
Apparently if you fry it, it tastes like green pepper. I bought some from the Real Seeds company (cultivar 'Fat Baby'!?!) and it's coming up nicely at the moment - I started it off in a propagator a couple of weeks ago.
