I find yoga exercises very good for my occasionally very sore (lightning stabbing pains and cannot move) back.

Swan, upwards/downwards dog, cobra are excellent at stretching/working the lower spine. I do them 5 days a week - in addition to my two hourly yoga sessions where I am one of two-three men amongst hundreds ** of scantly clad young women (who needs Russian brides or Asian women? :-)

          ** at least 10.

I suppose having toms ripening on the sitting room windowsill at Christmas is cheating? (The plants are on the windowsill, not just the fruit).
