    October

Tomato plants starting to look a bit backendish, but some have more shoots from the bottom. The best ones will be kept to (hopefully) overwinter.

      • How the months fly by:

October: Not a lot left to grow now so time was spent raising the beds & filling them.

        Octpond:

Pretty much established now including about 30 babies all doing well.

I came across an old table & bench set the was unsafe to sit on so today rather then dismantle it for burning, I knocked up a strawberry planter.

        • 6th October, still very warm (27) and sunny. We've only had one decent spell of rain since the start of August.

From the west, brassicas looking a little sad after assault by cabbage whites, snails, brassica beetles and flea beetles! Phacelia coming through in the empty beds.

From the east. Soon be time to start on the leeks, and will the foliage ever die back on the crosnes de Japon so we can see what's under there?

            • Well, I'm not quite sure what happened to September. I did manage to take some photos but the downloading and posting just didn't happen. Here are 2 months' worth of pictures. The plot is starting to look a bit empty but I have planted out my strawberry runners in a new bed and the garlic and onions are in.

                    • 3rd November - October was very hot and dry with no rain since 12th and 31 degrees on Halloween. Most days have been in the upper 20s. We had five times as much rain in August!!
