Friday direct sown sweet pea saved seeds, yesterday sweet peppers & aubergines in the seven tray propagator
The sweet pea seeds I took off the plants last year in September were sown straight away into a large pot and left outside. They're about 2" high now. I've just noticed the ones I've put to chit are dwarf sweet peas. Didn't notice that when I got them in the 50p W*v*le Garden Centre sale. Got 3 pkts of full size ones too though, so I may put the dwarf ones to scramble about on their own in a corner.
Since Christmas I have sown
Red robin tomatoes (dwarf windowsill variety)
Bloody butcher tomato
Sweet pea current tomato ( particularly excited about these teeny toms)
Cherry bomb peppers
Oregano (true Greek)
long red Marconi pepper
Sweet nardello pepper
Tomato(Orkado)
Tomato terenzo
Physalis
Alpine strawberry
Hotscotch pepper
Aubergine(black beauty)
Sweet baby tomato
Red and yellow Pygmy tomatoes
Asparagus seeds now soaking
Red and sweet basil
Garlic and standard chives
Perpetual spinach
Shallot seeds
Mesclun mixed salad leaves
Mixed stir fry leaves
I have been a little busy, windowsills and propagators all full (nearly)
I also have a couple dozen early peas overwintering and some chilli plants overwintering
I grew "Outdoor Girl" last year with good results, plus they are a bush variety so no need to remove armpits.
There are a few more varieties here to get your taste buds going:
sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,” -------------------------------------------------------------------- Official Member Of The Nutters Club - Rwanda Branch. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sent from my ZX Spectrum with no predictive text..........

I think that they do nearly equally well started on the date they recommend but I personally really enjoy nurturing my seedlings and spending time hardening them off on bright days, you get the benefit of established roots and the slightly longer season for the slow growers.
Ceres with the physalis Im overwintering mine and took cuttings which haven't gone leggy, they seem to be doing better than the chillies tbh might be worth thinking about next winter
So far I've sown
pasilo bajio
Hungarian hot wax
Chocolate hab
Redskin
Mowhawk
Strawberry white soul
Carolina reaper
White bhut jolokia
Yellow fatalli
Yesterday sowed 4 types of chilli seed - Naga Jolokia, Habanero, Scotch Bonnet and Tobasco. Sowed in smallish dishes in compost and covered over with cling film. Hoping for some positive results!!!
It's very frustrating for me as I've nowhere to grow on seedlings where it's light and/or warm enough...however, having said that I do have 24 Espelette chillies germinating on top of the radiator!
We had the same problem Nicos - no windowsills! plus no central heating etc etc. We now have a heated soil cable in a trough in the 'conservatory' (read ugly glass box) though, which did wonders last year . But well, er, I've still not planted anything yet
