      Apart from resowing all my peas, I've also sown 3 kinds of tomatoes (tigrella, marmande and pink brandywine thanks to the VSP!), cucamelon and two types of sunflower.

      Boyfriend repotted a whole bunch of previous tomato seedlings (red pear and san marzano) as well as a few peppers and some brassicas.
      A busy evening!

      Never heard of pink brandywine batman.....had a right job sourcing brandywine and eventually picked up 2 rather sorry looking plants last weekend

          • Today I sowed some "White Gem" parsnip seeds from the 2013 Seed Circle. Two 8ft rows. Also had a packet of "Pinnacle" parsnip seed and managed another 3 rows. Roughly 4 seeds every 4ins.

              • Hi guys I am new to this site and new to the art of forums, I fact I don't even know the difference between a blog and a forum! So please bear with me and feel free to correct if I put things in the wrong place.
                This is the first year I have really tried to sow from seed. The garden is a work in progress at the moment so all the new little plants will have to find homes in pots this year.
                I have planted loads of annuals this year;
                Marigolds and nasturtiums, these we're going to be companion plants for the veggie bed, but as they are so pretty in their own right (and tasty) I am glad the have got off to a good start. Have also planted herbs-basil and coriander.

                • Welcome aboard Bal, and don't worry about the confusion... there's lots of confused people here I had a brain parp the other day while making a cuppa tea, and went to put the kettle in the fridge .....

                  Anyhoo ....

                  I cannot believe how quickly my Dolichos Lab Lab (Hyacinth Beans) are growing. Sown on the evening of the 7th, repotted and 3" tall on the 12th, and tonight over 4" tall with about 2" leaves I think I might be WAY too early with these ... and I only have 3 seeds left.

                  ..... or ... did I actually keep those last three seeds

                            • Hi noticed a lot of you have sown coriander seeds, did you buy the seeds from a seed shop or plant ones bought from a spice shop? My father always grew coriander and used to just take the spices out of my mums spice tin. The seeds always grew well. This year I am going to sow both, from my spice tin and Mr Fothergils seeds, and see if there is any difference. Will try the same with fenugreek. Will post the results as soon as the coriander is grown.
