Bal I've just bought some Mr Fothergill's - it never occurred to me to use what I had in my spice cupboard, duh!

Outside I sowed:
Kale - Sutherland and another anonymous variety
Purslane
Salsola - 'liscari sativa'
Spinach (bog standard Mr Fortherg*lls)
In cell trays I started:
Basil - Sweet Green and Neapolitan
Coriander
As to seedling culls, I just couldn't bring myself to do that, but I have started off-loading. Today I foisted a parsley seedling onto a friend, and tomorrow my step-daughter will be the recipient of a basil and a parsley, mwah ha ha!Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

I've sown just about every seed I have. I'm working on the 'it will either grow or it wont' theory.
So far I've sown:
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Courgettes
A mini cucumber thing that says cucumber on the front and gerkin on the back.
One butternut squash (only because I keep reading everyone else say it's too early so I'm scared to sow any more.
Peas
2 different kinds of beans
Celery
Parsley
3 different kinds of lettuce
Chives
Radishes
Leeks
Chillis
Basil
Coriander
I'm in trouble if they all grow.
The seeds are mostly all in modules in seed trays and covered with a clear plastic lid. They are sitting on a high shelf in the polytunnel and the compost is very warm and damp. We've had a fair few good days recently so the tunnel gets quite warm during the day but of course is cold at night. The moisture is condensing on the lid.
I'm slightly concerned that the seeds might rot? Should I leave them covered or take the lids off?

Sowed the chitted 'Double Standard' Bicolour Sweetcorn into toilet rolls filled with MPC. 52 in all.
Moved my tomato and pepper plants down to the allotment polytunnel. They have been put onto a pallet which can hold fleece over them for these chilly nights.
