Hello all after losing a bit last year to butterflies I'm determined this year to keep brassicas covered! Probably a daft question but if I use scaffold netting can pollinating insects still get through? Thanks

I use it all over the place now - on young plants and newly planted things to keep the cats and chickens off (remove it when they're big enough, or when they start to flower and need pollinating); on all my brassicas all year round (you'll need to stitch or peg up the big holes where the pieces join though, otherwise butterflies will get through); across the bottom half of my polytunnel doors when they're open to keep the cats and chickens out - and I'm sure it protects against carrot fly too. It's also used as temporary 'fencing' to keep things in or out of places eg around the duck area when we got new ducks, and across the hedge to try to deter the neighbour's goat. And I may try stringing it up behind my fruit bushes this year to see if I can protect them a bit from frosts and northerly winds which wrecked loads of pollen last year. Don't know how I ever lived without it really!sigpicGardening in France rocks!

I put scaffolders debris netting on my Strawberries. I just chuck it over them, no hoops to keep it off the plants per se. I wait until the flowers have finished before covering them though, so the Bees can do their stuff.K's Garden blog the story of the creation of our garden

Mine came from Tarpaflex. My advice would be the get the Black - I thought the "Green" would blend in . it's Turquoise and sticks out like a sore thumb!
