It's just been so wet that I dare not touch the soil. Did manage to get a thick mulch of compost on some of the beds and a bit of tree pruning done but that's it.
Actually when I said wet I meant completely waterlogged!!
Yup, I did. Probably from early to mid October till about 2 weeks ago ... ish. I'm trying to choose perennials very wisely for next year, so hopefully I can neglect it more often
I don't really do much in our garden as the house is rented. I did cut the grass back in November and its still quite short so that's ok. I've now got a greenhouse at home as well as at the allotment so I keep popping in there to do bits and bobs. As for the allotment I managed to get my plot winter dug before the wet weather came. I did have to move half a load of manure (25 wheelbarrows) in the rain but as my paths on my plot are paving slabs it wasn't too bad.
Have not been down the allotment as much as last winter. The miserable weather gets you down sometimes! Having said that managed to harvest cabbages, brussels, kale, broccoli. Still a bit more to keeps us going!
The soil and lawn are much too wet to do anything - so it'll stay untouched antil things start to dry out. As the lawn is mostly in shade at this time of year, I reckon it'll be months before I can cut it again
i don't fancy squelching down the garden to the veggie patch at the moment .... can't do much there until it dries up a bit ....
and i've just been told i can have an allotment within the next few weeks .... waiting for current tenant to remove his stuff .... i'm gonna be a very busy boy!
