Perennial Cabbage?

Well, if you are anything like me, I start getting itchy fingers at this time of year..................so last week I came across some cabbages that after being cut off, the stalks had been left in the ground. The stalks had new growth so I picked a half dozen, put them in water & they all rooted. They are now in modules to grow on before putting them out. My query is: Do you think they will form heads or just run to seed?

You've brought back happy memories of last year's experiments with celery, sprouts and other veggie oddments!!
I think they'll head up as I've been doing something similar with a cabbage plant for 3 years now. Keep an eye on them though, as they may suddenly make a bolt for it.

Don't know if they will form heads but you could eat the leaves as spring greens or shred and deep fry for Chinese seaweed?

The title sounds like a bad smell, the old cabbage has been coming back to haunt us!!!

I'm trying perennial runner beans this year, I've left last years crop hacked down and covered with protection to see if they come back stronger this year. You never know?
