Over the weekend I did a big vat of chicken and chard curry (always cook the stems for longer than the leaves if they're bigger ones) for the freezer and some chard pesto for serving with pasta. Both really yummy and still have loads left. Have just sown some new plants but am tempted to just move the one I've got to where I want them as they're doing so well with the mild winter

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Chard is a biennial so it will run to seed later this year.

Mine usually ends up flowering in the first year but one of the great things about chard is you can just cut off the flowering stems and it carries on growing. None of that bitter / bolted taste of so many other things.

I lifted my dalek compost bin yesterday to re-site it and there was a rainbow of chard on top of the compost.
