On the subject of potatoes. When I was turning my compost heap today I found a potatoe plant growing out of the other side of it towards my neighbour - I didn't realise it was there. There were 7 or 8 small spuds attached, perfectly formed and I had them for my tea - they were lovely - a real unexpected treat! Looking forward to my own spuds even more now!

As for late planting, I watched GW when Titchie pulled out a bucket of first early supds he'd planted up at the end of August and had them with xmas dinner. Sounds like a plan!http://norm-foodforthought.blogspot.com/
