As my hubby and myself were due to go away for 4 or 5 days I took a chance, and after checking the forecast I planted out my beans and peas in the garden. I swear they have grown an inch in the past week. I couldnt wait to get home to check them and didn't know what to expect. I think I was just lucky the weather was mild.

Oh Darcy, i hope your'e wrong.
This the first time I have tried growing beans and the pack said they are cold tolerant.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Broad beans and peas should be able to go out now. To be fair my peas are still in the greenhouse as they're only just germinating now, but as soon as they're all here the pots will be moved outside. My broad beans have nearly all appeared from a direct outdoor sowing, but my french beans won't be going out until April at least, if the weather stays mild. But then I've always found they grow quite quickly once the weather warms up anyway, so if I lose my first round of sowings it doesn't matter too much.
