Is there a natural/organic fungicide??

Little mushrooms have appeared in my raised bed and in my pots with my tomato seedlings, any tips for getting rid of them using natural substances? Or will the aide an issue to anything I'm growing!? They are little black/grey mushrooms with quite long coned caps. Thanks to anyone who can help

We had the same in ours, we just left them, they were very short lived once the polytunnel started to warm.

their not doing any harm so leave them, if you don't like the look of them pull them up

Yes, just pull them up if they are in the way, or leave them to disappear by themselves. The problem with using fungicides on your soil is that there are a lot of beneficial fungi underground that plants need to help them grow better, which is why you can now buy mycorrhizal fungi in a packet for mixing with your soil. If you use fungicide, you kill those fungi off as well, and plants won't be so healthy without it.

That's very common with some of the peat free composts, which have wood in them. The mushrooms do no harm

The funghi are actually breaking down some of the incompletely decomposed material in the compost as part of the natural cycle of decomposition and as such are releasing nutrients which will then be available ( eventually) to your plants. Best to let them get on with it.

I think this is caused by the damp conditions we have had, the same has happened to me, I just pulled them up. Of course if your using old mushroom compost they might be coming from that. However i doubt if they are mushrooms so dont eat them. Get some ventilation going and dry them out a bit.
