a quick question on te baby sweetcorn (minipop variety) .... how tall do the plants grow? (I will be planting some for a client in a raised bed and need to know the height so as to decide in which bed to plant)

"Tall". They are the old fashioned type of Sweetcorn plant, so grow tall. Long time since we grew them for our kids, but from memory I think the plants were 6' or more

I thought they were a waste of time. We never managed to pick the little cobs at just the right time ... grew them for 4 or 5 years and never fully got the hang of it. I read others on the forums saying they had huge success with them, so either the variety I was growing (also Minipop) or my husbandry was pants.

I took the tassels off the top, when they appeared, to stop them pollinating anything - in particular my Sweetcorn crops nearby.

EEK! 6 foot tall ... I thought that they would grow to a foot or two tall ... lucky I asked the question ... too late now as I have bought loads of trays but they will be planted in a different section of the vegetable garden

I also sowed some of James Wong's Popcorn Fiesta seeds in my own garden (I bought a heated propogator to speed things up)
