Wait a few weeks and it'll happen all by itself. Just a suggestion, but I think unbashed herbs are probably the better way to go.My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

How are unbashed ones better though? I was just curious as if i could have pureed a batch now it would have freed up my bin space? Sureley its better? Lets when my bin is full of water and nettles it is 100% now if you take the leaves out or passe through a seive or take your onion bag full of nettles out then you are potentially taking some percentage of goodness out..... its purely curiosity...

...so.....why not give it a try!....you may be onto something new!...there would certainly be more bruised surface area to speed up the rotting down!
...you also get to play with the concrete mixer...which is always fun!

I would have thought the reason its generally called a tea is because its allowed to steep?
While I think you may have a good idea to hasten the procedure, I reckon you'll still need to let the flavour flood out. Literally you'll know when its ready, when you can't stand being anywhere near it.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Ok..im back...guess where i was...yup. playing with a binfull of nettles and water a concrete mixer and 5 stones. i was going to be very scientific about it but 5 mins into the mixing i got sidetracked and fixed my big barn door..anyway after a couple of mins when i returned ther was a nasty smell. i took some liquid out aftrr about ten mins and poured it into a clear bottle..then i did the same again at about 20 mns into the mix. just to see the difference..bit in the end i ended up with what can only be described as rancid boiled shredded/puréed spinach. was the experiment a sucess...iv no idea but it kept me busy for half an hour and i got round to fixing my barn door i will post pics n a sec

I'd say thats a success, the more rancid it is the more successful the outcome. If you can smell as you cross the garden thats a good brew.
My neighbour and I like to keep a bucket in the shed on the plot, you don't need a lock then.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

First pic should be liquid after 10 mins..second should be after 20 3rd pic should be trying to show off the puréeness of the mix and the last should be the bin ..it appeared to be bubbling aswell!!! Took almost as long to upload the pics as it did to do the experiment!
