  • squashes and coffee grounds

    Hi.
I did a search, but couldn't see if this had been asked already.
I know that squashes like to grow in heaps of compost, but I was wondering if anyone had tried to grow them in heaps of coffee grounds ( or soil just enriched with coffee grounds)? And if so - what was the result?

    Thank you

Yes, I did a trial last year.

    100% grounds: everything died
50% grounds: seedlings lasted a little while, then died
25% or less, they did OK not brilliant

It really is better to compost them in the normal way, then use the finished compost on your plants
