Sorry, I've been at it again.................
Parts Reqd:
4ft Length of drainpipe
1 x 3" Plant Pot
1 Jar
I weighted container.........Sand/Water filled container.
Have just finished making 1 Nettle & 1 Comfrey Tea Tube. The first thing I did was cut a notch out of the top of the pipe so I could access a screw. I then fastened the plant pot to the bottom of the pipe with a jubilee clip.
Fitting:
1) What I did was start from the bottom, so rest the jar on a brick or in my case an upturned pot.
2) Place the pipe (with attached plant pot) into the jar. Because the pot is tapered, it fits snug into the jar.
3) Attach the pipe to something solid, i.e Fence Post through cut out notch (use only one screw)
4) Attach a length of string to the weighted plunger.
Filling:
When the pipe is filled with leaves, the weighted plunger compresses the leaves hopefully squeezing the juice through the plant pot into the jar.
Well that's the theory anyway...............
Emptying:
Hold the jar & swing the pipe to one side (hence only one screw..). Remove jar of tea & replace with an empty jar. Swing pipe back into place on brick/pot.
