I've never grow Beetroot before, I sowed a 4m row on Thursday of Boltardy and cocked up the spacing, 150mm instead of 100mm, on a positive note; they will have plenty of room what are typical germination rates ?

^^^ that will be fine! As the beetroot seed is a cluster don't thin out and they will grow pushing each other out. Germination is usually very good, especially early on during the wet weather.

I plant direct, partly because I don't have the space to start everything off in modules and I have always found beetroot esay enough to grow direct. Always grown globe ones but this has not been a specific choice just the way its happened.

Plant direct here and use cylindrical ones because they are easier to peel after boiling and cut up cause I am lazy

Another "Bolt Hardy" fan here! Direct sowing for me!

I too also find beets relatively easy n non problematic to grow!

Have I just "Shot Myself in the foot?"

            Not sown yet!

I grow 3 Beetroot plants per 9cm pot (and plant out later). I use 2 for thinnings leaving the best to grow on "Bigger".

Pedantic point: I believe that "Bolthardy" is actually "Boltardy"

I sow direct into the ground. I grow a mixture of cylindrical (Alto) and globe (Red Ace and Pablo)

Choggia and Bulls Blood are nice...
Usually direct in the ground, but sow some early on in Modules...

Don't forget to sow plenty, so that you can pick young leaves for use in salads..
