i tried growing these last year but batch after batch rotted off and didnt germinate. i sowed them in seed compost and i know for a fact i didnt over water them. i finally got some germination but by that time it was too late in the year for the plants to amount to anything. this year im trying again but same thing. no germination and rotten seeds. whats going on? is there some special way to do it?

we did it to stop mice eating them some people soak them in parofin but i did not like that idear
so we thought we would try garlic and it seams to have worked
you can use ether garlic granuals or garlic salt but i would not leave them in the garlc salt long all you need is for them to take on the smell
then put them stright out on the plot

            Hi Leona,

Nope, we saoked them for about 4 or 5 hours, then planted them up! Of the 12 seeds we put in we've so far had about 6 or 7 poke their heads up, and as the weather is improving we're hoping that the others will follow along shortly!

Soya beans are pretty hard to grow in the UK...I bought a UK-specific variety this year, but can't remember its name...something like Ustie.... yep, here it is:
